David Hirshleifer

David Hirshleifer holds the Merage Chair in Business Growth at the Paul Merage School of Business, University of California at Irvine. He previously taught at the Anderson School at UCLA, held the Waterman Chair at the University of Michigan Business School, and the Kurtz Chair at Ohio State University. He is known for his research in behavioral finance and economics and on how misguided ideas and behaviors spread among investors and throughout society. His work has appeared in the top journals in finance and economics, has won several awards, and has been profiled in media outlets. He has served as a consultant to firms, and as a director for professional societies. He has also served as editor of the Review of Financial Studies, and as associate editor and coeditor of several journals in finance, economics, and corporate strategy.
