ANNOUNCING THE
WHARTON RESEARCH DATA SERVICES BEST PAPER AWARD
Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) is pleased to announce the WRDS Best Paper
Award which will be announced at the annual meetings of European Financial Management
Association (EFMA) every year to an outstanding finance paper. The WRDS Best Paper Award
will recognize the paper that has the most potential to advance our understanding in the field of
finance. The winner(s) of the WRDS Best Paper Award will be selected by an Award Review
Committee and will share the US $2,000 cash prize.
About WRDS
WRDS is a comprehensive webbased
data management system that allows faculty and students
to easily retrieve information from a wide variety of financial, economic, and marketing data
sources. WRDS was developed in 1993 as a resource for The Wharton School faculty. It has
grown to become a dedicated network of member institutions. This hosted data service has
become the locus for quantitative data research and is recognized by the academic and financial
research community around the world as the leading business intelligence tool. Today the
WRDS community consists of scores of prominent universities, research institutions and nonprofit
organizations
WRDS carries a broad set of historical data from the world’s leading providers of researchquality
databases such as the Center for Research in Security Prices (CRSP), Standard & Poor's
Compustat, Thomson Financial’s Institutional Brokers Estimates System (IBES), and the New
York Stock Exchange’s Trade and Quote database (TAQ). The databases on WRDS can be
accessed by faculty, students, and staff whose school or institution maintains a license
agreement with WRDS and with the appropriate data sources.
